For your business, you must carry out a First Aid Needs Assessment. This looks at the nature of your business, number of employees and any risks that may be present in your workplace regarding first aid.
Purple Dog can help your business with this so that your requirements to meet your due diligence will be covered.
The HSE requirements state you must ensure that there is adequate Adult First Aid at Work cover, either from your staff attending a First Aid at Work course FAW , or Emergency First Aid at Work EFAW.
We can help you with this aspect With the option of using the first aid requirements calculator on our home page, or by calling Iain on 01484 546780 and arranging for either Steve or Nikki to call you, we make this process straightforward to support you.
A question to consider is: If you did have an inspection or an incident at your business that requires the HSE to visit you, can you prove you have done all that you can to keep your employees safe and provided the correct number of first aiders at the correct level of training?
We provide for your business, the Full First Aid at Work course FAW, the Emergency First Aid at Work Course EFAW, the Requalification in First Aid at Work along with the Annual Update half day courses between full certificate expiry dates
This training can be undertaken at our Huddersfield Training Venue, or in your workplace if that makes it easier for you.
The Classroom, Emergency First Aid at Work Course is a 1 day course that takes place in the classroom and these are delivered for you multiple times within the month
A question for you: Do you have to consider staff rotas which means that potentially 3 days out of your business?
We provide for your business both blended and classroom based courses to meet what is best for you with regards to:
The First Aid at Work FAW, and Requalification First Aid Courses
Both courses cover all the subjects required under the HSE guidance, so you know you will learn all the skills you are legally required to do on your First Aid at Work or Requalification First Aid at Work courses. All First Aid certificates are valid for 3 years
A question to consider is: Would you feel happier having a reminder sent through to you when certificates are due to expire?
We can help you with that as Iain sends reminders and course dates to you 3 months before any certificate is
due to expire. This takes the pressure off for preventing your certificates lapsing in the meantime.
A question to consider is: Would you feel happier having you or your staff undertake annual refresher/update courses between full certificates?
This is not a legal requirement like the original certificate is, it is a recommendation from the HSE. However it can ensure that knowledge is there throughout the time between full certificates.
